Reflection for Evan: How does your voice % compare to those of your teammates?
Communication Analysis
Evan demonstrates strengths in clarity and conciseness, primarily using short and direct statements to express his thoughts clearly. He effectively communicates his ideas and thoughts, making it easier for others to understand his messages. For example, when discussing the game Polis, he straightforwardly states, "You just get fire to win the game." This statement effectively conveys the main objective of the game.
In the area of effective questioning, Evan demonstrates the ability to ask questions that seek clarification and generate problem-solving discussions. He asks questions like, "How are we going to build the boat and catch the fish?" which encourages his teammates to think and contribute to the conversation. This demonstrates his ability to enhance the dialogue by asking relevant and engaging questions.
However, there is limited evidence of Evan actively promoting an inclusive and understanding environment or displaying empathy towards his teammates. While he maintains a positive and grateful tone throughout the session, the majority of his contributions focus on game-related instructions and explanations, rather than showing empathy towards others' perspectives.
In summary, Evan's strengths lie in his clarity and conciseness, active listening, and effective questioning skills. However, he could benefit from further developing his empathy and perspective-taking abilities to create a more inclusive and understanding team environment. Encouraging Evan to actively consider his teammates' perspectives and validate their ideas would enhance his overall communication skills.
Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors.
