Charley, here are some observations about your participation and communication during Play:
You show a strong willingness to engage actively in the game and often take initiative in directing the team's actions. Comments like, ¡°Guys for this method of strategy, we should surround all the corners,¡± illustrate your enthusiasm and leadership. Your active involvement, such as ¡°I want to be on a middle cannon,¡± indicates that you are eager to take on significant roles. As you continue developing this skill, try to balance leadership with inclusiveness by inviting more input from your teammates. Asking questions like, ¡°What do you think we should do next?¡± would help foster a more collaborative team environment.
Your communication is often clear and instructive, providing timely updates and directives that help the team stay aligned, as seen in "Guys, let's stay calm.¡± These updates help keep your teammates focused on the game¡¯s goals. Consider enhancing your communication by involving teammates more and giving them space to express their ideas, like in, ¡°Hey, what should we do after this?¡± This approach can foster a more inclusive and effective team dynamic. You can keep refining this skill in other areas of life by practicing asking for others' opinions and providing clear, constructive feedback.
Observations based on your participation in Play sessions in 3 of
the past 4 weeks.
On your journey to make any team you join better, you¡¯ll practice how to
effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion sessions are carefully
designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical
communication skills in various ways.
Last week's theme was
"Punishment Fits the Crime." Rules and laws help keep everyone safe and make sure we get along. Break a rule; get a punishment. But what if it's not black and white? What if it's a mistake? Should context matter?
No right or wrong answers; just interesting conversations with kids from
around the world.

average?
Charley, here are some observations about your communication during last week's Discussion:
You show a good effort in participating and listening to your teammates. For instance, your question "What is one piece of technology you couldn't live without? My computer." was clear and easy to understand. It's great that you make efforts to respond to others, like when you said, ¡°It's a relief,¡± acknowledging your teammates' points. However, some of your responses, such as ¡°Yes, yes, yes,¡± and ¡°Wait what?¡± could be more detailed to show that you are fully engaged and understand what your teammates are saying, as that would help others follow your ideas better. Additionally, while you do interact with your teammates, consider trying to understand their perspectives more deeply. Asking questions like, ¡°Why do you feel that way?¡± or ¡°Can you explain more?¡± could make your conversations even richer. Overall, you have a good foundation in communication skills and we appreciate your active engagement. Keep up the good work at your next Discussion session!
Anyone who¡¯s on the path toward becoming a Supercollaborator is able to keep
improving their skills and making course corrections. We look forward to
seeing you at future Play + Discussion sessions, and we¡¯ll continue giving you
feedback on your teamwork and communication skills.
