Natural Election week, and that means your negotiation skills will be put to the test. Will your teams negotiate in good faith or in bad faith? Both can lead to a win, but are all wins created equal?

Lufei, here are some observations about your participation and communication during Play:
You are very active and enthusiastic in your involvement. Your expressions like ¡°I¡¯m here¡± and ¡°I'll get [the ball]¡± show that you are eager to participate and contribute to the game. Your readiness to take on roles, such as saying, ¡°I¡¯ll make the iron balls,¡± demonstrates leadership and initiative. As you continue developing this skill, try to remember to balance your excitement with listening to others¡¯ ideas to make sure everyone¡¯s voice is heard. Consider offering suggestions, especially during quieter moments, to help guide your team.
Your communication is clear and often supportive, as seen in phrases like ¡°You can do it!¡± and ¡°We need backup.¡± This encouragement is great for team morale. At times, your statements can be a bit repetitive or lack specific direction, such as repeatedly saying ¡°Bro?¡± without additional context. A useful strategy could be to focus on sharing more detailed feedback and asking clear questions to help your teammates understand your thoughts better. This will make your contributions even more effective and help your team work together more smoothly. Keep practicing these skills not just in games, but also in group activities or school projects!
Observations based on your participation in Play sessions in 3 of
the past 4 weeks.
On your journey to make any team you join better, you¡¯ll practice how to
effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion sessions are carefully
designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical
communication skills in various ways.
Last week's theme was
"Punishment Fits the Crime." Rules and laws help keep everyone safe and make sure we get along. Break a rule; get a punishment. But what if it's not black and white? What if it's a mistake? Should context matter?
No right or wrong answers; just interesting conversations with kids from
around the world.

Lufei, here are some observations about your communication during last week's Discussion:
You are great at being clear and polite in your responses. For example, when you said, "Time's up," it was short but easy to understand. However, to make your contributions even more helpful, try giving a bit more detail. Adding extra information can help everyone understand your ideas better. Also, when you say simple things like "Yes," think about adding why you agree or disagree. Sharing examples or reasons can make your points much stronger and more convincing.
You also show that you're listening to others by saying "Thank you," which is very polite. It's great that you acknowledge what others say. To boost your active listening, consider building on what your teammates say. For instance, if a teammate shares an experience, you could add your thoughts or ask a question about it. This shows that you are really engaged and care about their ideas. Remember, showing empathy by recognizing others' feelings is important too. You could say something like, "I understand how you feel because..." to show you are considering their perspective. Keep up the great work and try these tips out next time!
Anyone who¡¯s on the path toward becoming a Supercollaborator is able to keep
improving their skills and making course corrections. We look forward to
seeing you at future Play + Discussion sessions, and we¡¯ll continue giving you
feedback on your teamwork and communication skills.
