Monthly Feedback Report for Ethan
On your journey to make any team you join better, you¡¯ll practice excellent
behaviors that enhance your teamwork.
This week's theme is
disruption communication. Good communication is easy when things feel calm, but when the pressure goes up our communication can become chaotic.
We'll explore techniques to help keep teams focused, calm, and in control as we play
Hyperball. Check out the
Synthesis Mission Brief for a preview of what to expect in Play this week.

Ethan, here are some observations about your participation and communication during Play:
You actively engage in the sessions and consistently demonstrate enthusiasm and readiness to contribute. For example, you often take the lead in discussions and strategic planning, as seen in your comments like, ¡°We have to get enough ore to get the satellite.¡± and ¡°I'll do it.¡± This shows your proactive nature and willingness to drive the team forward. As you continue developing this skill, consider working on maintaining focus and clarity, especially during high-stress moments, to ensure your contributions are always aligned with team objectives.
Your communication is clear and frequent, which is great for keeping the team informed and coordinated. You effectively convey your thoughts and actions, such as when you say, ¡°Research the jellies. I'll do the jellies.¡± and ¡°You guys take control! I'm out of money!¡± which helps in task delegation. Improving this skill further, you might explore balancing your directives with more inclusive language and listening to teammates¡¯ ideas, which will enhance collaborative problem-solving and ensure everyone feels valued and heard.
Observations based on your participation in Play sessions in 3 of
the past 4 weeks.
On your journey to make any team you join better, you¡¯ll practice how to
effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion sessions are carefully
designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical
communication skills in various ways.
Last week's theme was
"Incentives." What truly drives people to take action? Is it recognition, a prize, or the thrill of experience? What kind of reward works best when the stakes are high¨Cand what kind of incentive do you personally prefer?
No right or wrong answers; just interesting conversations with kids from
around the world.
Communication in Discussions sessions
Ethan's % of time speaking average each session.
Reflection for Ethan: How does your voice % compare to the
average?
Productive communication and effective teamwork go hand in hand. Because you were unable to attend a Discussion session last week, we can¡¯t provide a current analysis of your strengths and areas for growth in your communication skills, including active listening and clarity of expression. To ensure our feedback is timely and relevant, we focus on your most recent conversations during Discussions. Feedback on conversations you had two or three weeks ago may not be as effective in helping you grow.
In Discussion sessions, you¡¯ll learn how to craft an educated opinion and express it civilly to peers from around the globe. We encourage you to attend upcoming sessions so we can help you develop your communication skills further.
This week¡¯s theme is ¡°Stranded!¡± Effective communication in a crisis isn¡¯t easy. We¡¯ll explore a classic collaborative crisis: being stranded on a desert island. What are the best decisions to prevent misunderstandings, build trust, and help everyone work together? Because even if they¡¯re never literally stranded, students should still be prepared to communicate through the unexpected.
We hope you can join the conversation!
Anyone who¡¯s on the path toward becoming a Supercollaborator is able to keep
improving their skills and making course corrections. We look forward to
seeing you at future Play + Discussion sessions, and we¡¯ll continue giving you
feedback on your teamwork and communication skills.
