Monthly Feedback Report for Zekai

TEAMWORK METRICS

On your journey to make any team you join better, you¡¯ll practice excellent behaviors that enhance your teamwork.

This week's theme is disruption communication. Good communication is easy when things feel calm, but when the pressure goes up our communication can become chaotic.

We'll explore techniques to help keep teams focused, calm, and in control as we play Hyperball. Check out the Synthesis Mission Brief for a preview of what to expect in Play this week.

TEAMWORK ANALYSIS

Zekai, here are some observations about your participation and communication during Play: You consistently show a willingness to join in and share your thoughts, which is great! In a few instances, like when you said, ¡°So how exactly do you go?¡± your enthusiasm shines through. Your questions and commands indicate that you¡¯re eager to learn and encourage your teammates. You also confidently share your strategies, like ¡°Basically, you have to grow it on medium size.¡± This shows that you¡¯re trying to figure things out and help others understand too. As you continue practicing this skill outside Synthesis, try to maintain a steady flow of involvement throughout the sessions. Adding more detailed explanations can help keep the team momentum going strong. As for your communication, you have a friendly and supportive style. Phrases like ¡°Good luck!¡± and "I'm going to go here and go here¡± demonstrate that you¡¯re trying to motivate and inform your teammates. Recognizing when you understand a strategy, such as saying, ¡°Oh, now I understand,¡± highlights your effort to ensure clarity. You might explore adding more context to your statements and asking follow-up questions when you¡¯re unsure, like ¡°Can you explain more about that?¡± Using teammates' names and providing specific feedback will also make your communication clearer and more effective. With these small tweaks, you¡¯ll find that your contributions have an even bigger impact on the team¡¯s success!

COMMUNICATION METRICS

On your journey to make any team you join better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways.

Last week's theme was "Incentives." What truly drives people to take action? Is it recognition, a prize, or the thrill of experience? What kind of reward works best when the stakes are high¨Cand what kind of incentive do you personally prefer?

No right or wrong answers; just interesting conversations with kids from around the world.

COMMUNICATION ANALYSIS

Productive communication and effective teamwork go hand in hand. Because you were unable to attend a Discussion session last week, we can¡¯t provide a current analysis of your strengths and areas for growth in your communication skills, including active listening and clarity of expression. To ensure our feedback is timely and relevant, we focus on your most recent conversations during Discussions. Feedback on conversations you had two or three weeks ago may not be as effective in helping you grow. In Discussion sessions, you¡¯ll learn how to craft an educated opinion and express it civilly to peers from around the globe. We encourage you to attend upcoming sessions so we can help you develop your communication skills further. This week¡¯s theme is ¡°Stranded!¡± Effective communication in a crisis isn¡¯t easy. We¡¯ll explore a classic collaborative crisis: being stranded on a desert island. What are the best decisions to prevent misunderstandings, build trust, and help everyone work together? Because even if they¡¯re never literally stranded, students should still be prepared to communicate through the unexpected. We hope you can join the conversation!

Anyone who¡¯s on the path toward becoming a Supercollaborator is able to keep improving their skills and making course corrections. We look forward to seeing you at future Play + Discussion sessions, and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on your teamwork and communication skills.
