On your journey to make any team you join better, you¡¯ll practice excellent
behaviors that enhance your teamwork.
This week's theme is
the purpose of practice. They say practice makes perfect, but maybe the better question is
'Can your practice be perfect?'
You'll have two chances to play each map in the playlist. Will you make the most of your practice as you play for the
Hyperball trophy? Check out the
Synthesis Mission Brief for a preview of what to expect in Play this week.

Zunqi, here are some observations about your participation and communication during Play:
You are great at jumping into the game and getting involved by giving directions and sharing your ideas. Your frequent comments like, "I'm buying a Eden to help,¡± and "Guys, we should get some real satellites,¡± show that you¡¯re trying to help your team succeed. It¡¯s really cool how you take charge! To make your contributions even more impactful, you could try initiating tasks more often and being just a little more detailed about what you¡¯re doing. For instance, instead of just saying ¡°Not so great,¡± you might say, ¡°Not so great because we need more ore.¡± This helps your teammates understand better and work together more effectively.
Your communication is usually clear and helps move the team forward. When you tell your teammates things like, ¡°Guys, the bottom small planet has the most ore¡± or ¡°I'm gonna call you back,¡± it shows clear intent and direction, which is super helpful. But sometimes, brief responses and expressions of frustration like ¡°Bro!¡± or ¡°Oh my god!¡± can be less clear and constructive. To improve, consider offering more detailed suggestions and using a softer, more encouraging tone. This will help keep everyone on the same page and in good spirits. Keep refining your communication by asking teammates for their ideas as well; it will make your team even stronger!
Keep it up, Zunqi! You're doing great, and these small adjustments will make a huge difference in how you collaborate with your team.
Observations based on your participation in Play sessions in 3 of
the past 4 weeks.
On your journey to make any team you join better, you¡¯ll practice how to
effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion sessions are carefully
designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical
communication skills in various ways.
Last week's theme was
"Stranded!" Effective communication in a crisis isn¡¯t easy. Students explored a classic collaborative crisis: being stranded on a desert island. What decisions could help to prevent misunderstandings, build trust, and get everyone work together? Because even if they¡¯re never literally stranded, students should still be prepared to communicate through the unexpected.
No right or wrong answers; just interesting conversations with kids from
around the world.
Communication in Discussions sessions
Zunqi's % of time speaking average each session.
Reflection for Zunqi: How does your voice % compare to the
average?
Zunqi, here¡¯s what we noticed about your communication during last week's Discussion session:
You show strong engagement in the group by actively participating and acknowledging your teammates, which is fantastic! For example, you said "Yeah, I think still the first one" and "You, Daniel," which shows you are listening and engaged in the conversation. Your polite expressions like "Please" and "Thanks" also demonstrate good manners and respect for your teammates. One area to grow is to provide more detailed insights or explanations during the discussion. For example, instead of just agreeing with "Yeah," try adding more information about why you agree or sharing a unique perspective. This will help enhance your contributions and deepen the discussion. To keep developing your communication skills, consider trying to ask follow-up questions or explicitly reference others' ideas more frequently. Remember, expanding your thoughts and encouraging quieter members to speak can make your team's conversation even better!
Anyone who¡¯s on the path toward becoming a Supercollaborator is able to keep
improving their skills and making course corrections. We look forward to
seeing you at future Play + Discussion sessions, and we¡¯ll continue giving you
feedback on your teamwork and communication skills.
