Hi Evan,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Last week, the session introduced students to five scenarios asking students to rank various options based on one specific cost. Then, in the second half of the session, students add in the relative benefits of each option to practice making holistic decisions based an analysis of costs and benefits.

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Evan, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.

Your active listening skills were noteworthy. You showed attentiveness to your teammates' contributions and made an effort to engage with their ideas. This active listening helped foster a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Moving forward, one area you can focus on for growth is being mindful of the time you take to speak. During one of the sessions, your speaking time was quite short, which limited your contribution to the discussion. It would be beneficial for you to ensure you have an adequate amount of speaking time to fully express your thoughts and ideas. Remember, your insights are valuable, and sharing them more extensively will further enrich the conversation. Your foundational communication skills are already strong, and with continued practice and engagement, you will continue to develop your abilities in group discussions.
Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. After reading your feedback, come up with 1 main, specific goal of how you¡¯ll improve your communication in this week's Discussion Sessions. Feel free to reply to this email and let us know what that goal is. This week, you will be asked to compare and contrast the diverse options of three different scenarios in order to practice identifying and evaluating the underlying commonalities between each choice. If you attend, we¡¯ll give you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice after incorporating this email¡¯s insights.

If your parent or guardian has any thoughts on this email, tell them they can fill out this 1-minute survey to keep on improving our session feedback.
