Communication Analysis
Charley, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities. Your capability to express ideas in a straightforward manner while acting as a discussion leader is notable. For example, your clear instructions for peers to "Listen, take turns, don't interrupt," helped direct the flow of conversation effectively. Another strength is your use of definitive language to predicate the conversation structure, as seen when you outlined decisions as "high cost by high rewards," "more risk and medium rewards," "low cost and low steady reward." Your ability to deliver your ideas succinctly was also evident when you said, ¡°I think it's somewhere in the middle, more like, benefit because AI have bring a lot of benefits to us so we can make less people have to work¡± effectively communicated your point.

During discussions, you leverage questions to foster deeper dialogue, exemplified when you prompted peers with "What do you guys think?" and "Are you a low-risk person or a high-risk person?" This tendency continued in your second discussion, where questions like, ¡°How about we came like you don't need to use money to buy food?¡± drove the conversation forward, posing valuable scenarios for consideration. However, there is a chance to grow in consistently responding to and building on the substance of teammates' contributions. While you show moments of building on teammates' comments with affirmations like, "Yeah, you can say it,¡± indicating active engagement, we encourage you to deepen this practice further, which could provide a richer exchange of ideas.

In terms of valuing teammates' perspectives, there's an opportunity for you to enhance your ability to consistently treat their input with importance by directly responding to them. While you sometimes acknowledge the complexity of their views, seen when you said, ¡°I think the virtual cashiers would be high risk, high cost, high reward," there were instances where you could have acknowledged others' comments directly. Overall, your leadership and question-posing capabilities are commendable, and with a focus on refining your engagement and perspective-taking, you have the potential to strengthen your communication skills even further.

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
