Communication Analysis
Evan, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.

Firstly, your ability to guide the conversation is notable, especially when you actively invite your teammates to share their thoughts with questions like, "So what do you guys think?" This suggests that you recognize the value of your peers' input and are keen on creating an inclusive discussion environment. However, while your questioning can be a strong asset, your expressions of frustration, such as "Ugh" and "Oh my God," can cloud the message you are trying to convey. Focusing on maintaining a more composed disposition, even when discussions become challenging, could improve how your ideas and reactions are perceived by others, fostering a more constructive discussion.

Regarding your listening skills, we observed a mix of engagement and distraction. While you demonstrated interest by responding "Interesting" to a teammate's point, there were also times when your expressions could be interpreted as withdrawal from the group dynamic. Being aware of and managing your reactions will help maintain a more positive and collaborative discussion atmosphere, showing your teammates that you value and reflect on their statements.

Additionally, your effort to include others in the conversation and to acknowledge their participation indicates an underlying appreciation for their viewpoint. Moving forward, continue focusing on drawing out your teammates' ideas, and consider how acknowledging or building upon their contributions with more specific feedback might further demonstrate your respect for their perspectives. This active recognition of others' viewpoints is a cornerstone of effective communication and team collaboration.

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
