Communication Analysis
Zijun, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.

In terms of expressing your thoughts, you have displayed a balance in your communication style. You effectively shared your stance with statements like, "I'm playing on the middle. I'm not too risky and not too great." This showcases your ability to share your viewpoint with clarity. However, some of your messages were brief and lacked the details that could help others understand your perspective more fully. To enhance the quality of the discussions, you could try to expand on your thoughts and provide more context to your statements, which would aid in deeper group understanding.

You show initial signs of being a good listener, acknowledging your teammates with quick affirmations like ¡°Yeah.¡± This suggests that you are following along with the conversation. However, to deepen the understanding and connection with your peers, you might consider expanding on their points and sharing how their comments resonate with your own thoughts. Active engagement is not just about hearing what others say but also about interacting with their ideas. By doing so, you could demonstrate a more robust level of active engagement that goes beyond just affirming what is said, illustrating that you are not only hearing but also considering and integrating teammates¡¯ contributions.

Regarding your questioning skills, your inquiries sometimes prompt further explanation from others, which is a solid foundation for effective questioning, as seen when you asked, "What is the importance of the number?¡± Despite this, your questions can occasionally be more expansive, inviting a deeper exploration of the subject matter. As for empathy and perspective-taking, while you maintain a neutral stance towards others' inputs, which keeps the discussion amicable, developing a habit of acknowledging or articulating the feelings or viewpoints of your peers could both deepen the connection within the group and expand the conversation. By building on the thoughts and experiences of others, you can cultivate a richer, more collaborative discussion environment.

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
