Hi bob,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways. Last week, you explored dilemmas in empathy and considered the question, "Should we always help others, or are there scenarios in which one's individual needs are more important?"

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Bob, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.

Regarding your attentiveness to the conversation, due to the limited nature of your contributions, it remains unclear how well you are following along with your teammates' discussions. Active participation often includes responding to what others are saying or adding new ideas and information to the discussion. We encourage you to engage by commenting specifically on your teammates' statements or by offering your own insights on the topic being discussed. This will not only show that you are listening but will also give us a chance to see how you interact with others' thoughts and suggestions.

Lastly, we still could not observe your ability to ask meaningful questions or understand others' viewpoints, as you did not pose any questions or contribute substantially beyond expressions of thanks. We recommend you take the earlier advice we provided to ask your teammates open-ended questions. This can demonstrate an interest in their perspectives and can help deepen the group's discussion. Questions like "What do you think about...?" or "Can you tell me more about your reasoning?" can show you are listening and are ready to engage with your teammates on a deeper level. By following these suggestions, you should be able to leverage your polite demeanor into meaningful engagement and show significant progress in your communication abilities.

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
