Hi Lufei,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways. Last week, you considered real-world examples of irreversible decisions in the worlds of music, art, business, and technology. What happened to people and businesses who crossed the point of no return?

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Lufei, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.

Your enthusiastic approach is a strong asset to group discussions, yet there is room to improve the clarity of your contributions. By providing more information and the reasoning behind your statements, like the clearer support for conservation efforts in "I want to like save the forest. Help the animals! Yay!", you can make your ideas more accessible to your teammates. Comparing this to previous sessions, you have clearly shown progress in your involvement.

You demonstrate some attentiveness to your peers' input, adjusting your stance in real-time, which was apparent when you shifted your support from technology to sports. However, there are occasions where your responses seem to diverge from the ongoing dialogue, such as in "Yeah, so we're not going to cut down the," followed by a shift to another subject. This suggests you can listen more intently to enhance thematic consistency, building on your acknowledgment of others, which you've shown in statements like ¡°Yeah.¡± Increasing your engagement with what your peers are expressing, exploring their ideas further, and responding to the core of their messages would show a more comprehensive understanding of what others communicate.

In the realm of questioning, you exhibit a sense of curiosity but can leverage it more effectively for the group¡¯s exploration of ideas. For example, you can make sure your questions help focus the conversation on the topic you're discussing. An example would be a question like, "What do you think A, B, or C?" Increasing the precision and relatedness of your questions will serve the collective conversation better. We can see your progress, Lufei, and look forward to seeing how you'll continue to develop your communication skills!

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
