Hi Martin,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways. Last week, you explored the trade-offs between immediate benefits and long-term advantages and how decisions today can shape the world of tomorrow.

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Martin, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.

In terms of expressing yourself, it appears that there's room for improvement regarding expressing your thoughts in a straightforward and clear manner. For instance, when you stated, "I'm going to try this bottle," it was not entirely clear what you were attempting to communicate. This kind of statement may leave your teammates puzzled about your intentions. We encourage you to remember to provide enough context so that your teammates can easily understand your points.

Listening and engaging with your teammates are crucial parts of group discussions. You showed signs of engagement, such as when you agreed with teammates using phrases like "Yeah" and "I know!" However, responses like "I've been bit by a poisonous spider on my head here" do not reflect a deep understanding or relevance to the discussion at hand. Reflecting on a previous session, where you provided encouraging reactions like "Cool," "Oh wow!" and "Yeah, my friend," it will be beneficial to keep working on staying on topic and contributing relevant insights to keep the conversation focused and engaging.

Lastly, it's great to see that you ask questions and show curiosity, evidenced by "What do you do?" This is an area where you have indeed shown consistency over time. However, as we noted before, your ability to ask deep, thought-provoking questions could be developed further to enhance interactions. In a previous session, you effectively used open-ended questions to engage your teammates. Aim to tie your questions directly to the subject being discussed to ensure they enrich the conversation and involve everyone in a meaningful way. We look forward to seeing you incorporate this feedback in future discussions.

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
