Hi Lufei,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways. Last week, you explored the trade-offs between immediate benefits and long-term advantages and how decisions today can shape the world of tomorrow.

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Lufei, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.

Your contributions reflect an enthusiastic attitude, but sometimes your ideas can become jumbled, making it hard for others to follow. By focusing on one point at a time and explaining how your thoughts are connected to the main topic, your messages can be clearer. Staying on topic, as you've improved in doing over time, helps everyone in the group understand and engage with your viewpoint.

In the area of engaging with what others are saying, you show willingness to interact and respond, which is a valued skill in group discussions. This indicates that you are listening, but this kind of engagement can be deepened by ensuring that your responses are directly linked to others' messages and maintain the discussion's theme. Sharpening your focus on what peers say before responding will make your contributions even more valuable.

Your curiosity is evident through the questions you ask, which have the potential to drive deeper conversation, like when you posed, ¡°What's one piece of technology you can't live without? Why?¡± This question invited your peers to share personal insights and helped facilitate a more comprehensive discussion. In the future, you can maintain this momentum by asking questions that are closely tied to the discussion, paving the way for more enriched dialogue. Your questioning has shown an increase in depth and focus since an earlier session where less targeted inquiries were made. We recognize your ongoing development, Lufei, and encourage you to continue refining these skills.

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
