Hi David,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways. Last week, we challenged you to find the root of the issues. Rather than taking a position on a scenario, students decided on the essential question at the heart of each one. No right or wrong answers, just interesting conversations with kids from around the world.

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
David, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.

Firstly, your ability to express ideas clearly and concisely continues to be a strong point in your participation. For instance, when you presented a hypothetical scenario, you effectively facilitated further discussion among your peers. This not only shows your capability to drive discussions but also highlights your skill in introducing complex ideas in a digestible manner. However, it's important to ensure all your contributions are directly pertinent to the topic to avoid potential distractions within the group dynamic.

Secondly, your active listening skills are commendable. You frequently engage with topics introduced by your teammates and contribute thoughtfully, as seen when you discussed the implications of a scenario by saying, "This scenario could be about responsibility." This kind of engagement indicates an effective synthesis of information which helps in pushing the conversation forward constructively. Nonetheless, enhancing your acknowledgment of others¡¯ contributions could further improve the collaborative atmosphere during discussions.

Lastly, your questioning method is notably effective, especially when probing into the ethical dimensions of topics in discussion, which enriches the conversation significantly. Nevertheless, while your previous sessions showed a strong sense of empathy and perspective-taking, there seems to be a slight decline in consistently applying this skill in the latest discussions. Consider consistently integrating diverse perspectives into your dialogues to maintain the depth and progress of discussions, as you have successfully done in the past. This balanced approach will not only strengthen your discussions but also foster a more inclusive environment.

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
