Hi Martin,
On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways. Last week, we challenged you to find the
root of the issues. Rather than taking a position on a scenario, students decided on the essential question at the heart of each one. No right or wrong answers, just interesting conversations with kids from around the world.
Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Martin, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.
In the realm of expressing your ideas, you have shown varying degrees of clarity and enthusiasm. For example, in one of your sessions, your statement "Okay, so I'll invent time travel," illustrated your ability to inject excitement and personal input, though sometimes your contributions could benefit from staying more related to the topic. Previously you inquired, "Which job would you like most to have as an adult?" which effectively set the stage for an engaging dialogue.
Your ability to listen and engage with others showed some improvement, as seen when you responded to peers with comments that built on their remarks. Yet, there are still moments of deviation where your answers tend to wander to less relevant topics. Previously, you have shown a capacity to respond with simple acknowledgments, but advancing this skill will require more focused contributions that demonstrate a deeper understanding of the discussion at hand.
Regarding questioning and empathy, you've begun to employ inquiries that stimulate further thought and discussion, like asking about ethical concerns in hypothetical scenarios. This represents a positive shift from earlier sessions, where your questions were more about personal interest rather than exploring deeper communal dialogue. In terms of empathy, there's a noted attempt to consider broader consequences that affect others, though your perspective often leans heavily towards personal viewpoints. Balancing this with a more inclusive consideration of your teammates' feelings and viewpoints would enhance the communicative impact of your participation in group discussions. Building on this progress will enrich your discussions and help cultivate a more comprehensive understanding of diverse perspectives.
Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
