Hi Wei,
On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways. Last week, we challenged you to find the
root of the issues. Rather than taking a position on a scenario, students decided on the essential question at the heart of each one. No right or wrong answers, just interesting conversations with kids from around the world.
Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Wei, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.
Firstly, you have shown improvement in posing clear, thought-provoking questions which lead the core of the discussions. Questions like, "Is it responsible to continue researching ideas that are risky to human?" exemplify your ability to address significant and complex topics directly. While your questions effectively advance the conversation, there is an opportunity for enhancing the clarity of your longer statements. For example, in saying, "It's a gamble and like scientists do that all the time," the message could benefit from more precise language to avoid being perceived as convoluted. Work toward structuring your sentences in a way that conveys your ideas succinctly and clearly will significantly sharpen your communicative effectiveness.
In terms of active listening and engagement, it is noticeable that you display an aptitude for incorporating your peers' ideas into the dialogue. However, there appears to be a tendency to redirect discussions back to your own points, possibly without fully exploring your peers' perspectives. A more consistent demonstration of considering responses deeply, as evidenced when you build upon others' contributions, will not only enrich the discussion but also enhance your connections with teammates. Further attending to your teammates' inputs before integrating your thoughts can augment your conversational impact positively.
Finally, while your intellectual curiosity and ethical reasoning within discussions are impressive, incorporating a more empathetic tone could strengthen your interpersonal connections. Phrases like, "Is it a pursuit of knowledge?" show your solid grasp of the topics discussed, yet including more expressions that reflect understanding of emotional or personal impacts could enhance your engagement level. By balancing your strong intellectual inquiries with empathetic consideration, you will not only foster deeper intellectual connections but also emotional ones, making your participation in discussions even more compelling and holistic.
Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
