Hi Sichu,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways. Last week, you looked 20 years into the future in the fields of education, the arts, AI, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and Synthesis itself as you considered the topic of visionary leadership. What trends in your world today inform your vision of the future? No right or wrong answers, just interesting conversations with kids from around the world.

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Sichu, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication abilities.

In your recent interactions, you have shown continued attempts to communicate your points, though clarity and conciseness still require attention. For instance, you made comments like "Hold on, hold on guys, I have a problem," which signals your desire to communicate issues but lacks immediate clarity on the specific issue. Similarly, expressions such as "This about art," are brief and to the point, yet they could benefit from more detail to fully convey your perspective. Expanding on your statements and providing more complete thoughts could greatly enhance how you are understood by your teammates.

Your listening skills have shown signs of engagement, as indicated by your use of phrases like "Oh, okay, okay," which reflect acknowledgment of your peers' inputs. However, there is a noted tendency for your responses to sometimes appear disjointed from the discussion context. This is an improvement from earlier feedback which suggested a need for greater participation; now, it would benefit you to focus on the context of the conversation more deeply to enhance relevance and continuity in your responses. Actively considering how your contributions connect back to the group's objectives or the points raised by others can demonstrate deeper understanding and engagement.

Lastly, your approach to questioning and empathy could see further enhancement. Thus far, there has been minimal evidence of you using questioning as a tool to delve deeper into discussion topics, which limits opportunities for richer conversations. For growth, consider formulating questions that invite your peers to explore ideas more expansively. Additionally, while you acknowledge interruptions with apologies like "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," showing more perspective-taking and engaging with the views of your peers could foster a more inclusive and supportive discussion atmosphere.

Continuous improvement in these areas will further your effectiveness as a communicator in group discussions, enhancing both the clarity of your contributions and the depth of your engagements with peers. We appreciate your ongoing efforts and are eager to see how you develop these skills further.

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
