Hi David,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways.

Last week, you focused on clear communication. When decisions need to be made quickly, our communication style often changes. Were you able to ensure that each teammate had space to share ideas, give examples, and ask follow-up questions? No right or wrong answers, just interesting conversations with kids from around the world.

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
David, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication skills.

Your points are generally clear and understandable, like when you said, "If there was another option, I would actually choose the one that you like, you know, the best of the best or whatever." This shows that you are thinking about the group's preferences. However, you can improve by avoiding fragmented phrases to make your thoughts even clearer.

You also show moments of active listening, as seen when you respond and build on your peers' ideas, like when you said, "Yeah, be careful." This shows you're paying attention and engaging with what others are saying. To take this further, consider elaborating more on others¡¯ viewpoints, which can make your interactions even more meaningful. Additionally, when you discussed renewable energy, saying, "So in this case I think renewable energies because that one basically leads to all the other ones," try adding more specific examples or data to support your arguments. This will make your contributions stronger and more persuasive.

Lastly, you show empathy and understanding of broader issues, such as when you said, "And you need clean water to keep people's lives clean." This demonstrates you care about health and well-being. You can enhance this by making more empathetic statements and showing understanding of your team¡¯s individual perspectives. For example, by acknowledging specific concerns your teammates raise and reacting to them thoughtfully. By focusing on these small changes, you'll become an even better communicator! We hope these observations help you grow and encourage you to keep participating actively in the discussions!

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
