Hi Sichu,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways.

Last week, you focused on clear communication. When decisions need to be made quickly, our communication style often changes. Were you able to ensure that each teammate had space to share ideas, give examples, and ask follow-up questions? No right or wrong answers, just interesting conversations with kids from around the world.

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Sichu, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication skills.

You have shown a willingness to share your thoughts and ideas, which is a great start. However, to make your communication more effective, you might want to focus on being clearer and more detailed. For example, instead of just saying, "I'm trying to know what's wrong with the short story," consider specifying what exactly you find confusing about the short story. This will help your teammates understand your concerns better and respond more effectively.

Regarding your listening skills, it¡¯s great to see you actively acknowledging others with phrases like "Oh, okay, okay." This shows that you are paying attention. However, to make your conversations more connected, try building on what others say instead of just acknowledging it. This will demonstrate that you are engaged and interested in the topic. Additionally, your arguments could be strengthened by supporting them with facts or examples. Providing specific examples or evidence can make your points more convincing and help others understand your perspective better.

Lastly, showing empathy and understanding is important in group discussions. While you¡¯ve shown this occasionally, like when talking with a teammate about their pets, it¡¯s important to be consistent. By asking questions and showing genuine interest in your teammates¡¯ views, you can create a more inclusive and positive discussion environment. Keep up the good work, and continue to build on these areas to become an even better communicator!

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
