Hi Zhuo,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways.

Last week, you examined scenarios in which small changes can make or break the end result. In Synthesis and in the real world, what small change can have the biggest impact? No right or wrong answers, just interesting conversations with kids from around the world.

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Zhuo, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication skills.

Firstly, you have shown a notable ability to give clear and efficient instructions, which is very helpful during group tasks. For example, you said, ¡°Perfect, move away and let me catch it,¡± which was clear and to the point. This is a great strength as it helps your teammates understand what needs to be done quickly. However, there is room to further improve the clarity and structure of your speech. Consider organizing your thoughts more carefully and making sure your sentences provide enough context for others to understand easily.

You also demonstrate active listening, often responding directly to your teammates. For instance, when you said, ¡°No, I think [teammate] will get it,¡± it was evident that you were paying attention to what others were saying. This shows good engagement. However, there¡¯s an opportunity to enhance your contributions even more by elaborating on your points with more details and examples. When you mentioned, ¡°you need clear communications,¡± it was an important point but could have been even more impactful with further explanation or examples of good communication practices.

Your involvement in the dialogue shows respect and consideration for your teammates, which is fantastic. You often contribute your thoughts, like when you said, ¡°I'm also doing reading books,¡± relating it back to the discussion. To further develop empathy and understanding of others' perspectives, you might explore engaging more deeply in discussions about your peers¡¯ feelings and viewpoints.

By continuing to work on these aspects, such as clarifying your speech, providing detailed reasoning, and showing empathy, you will make even more valuable contributions to your group discussions. Great job so far, and keep up the effort!

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
