Hi Wei,
On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways.
Last week, you examined scenarios in which
small changes can make or break the end result. In Synthesis and in the real world, what small change can have the biggest impact? No right or wrong answers, just interesting conversations with kids from around the world.
Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Wei, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication skills.
Your ability to share your thoughts and engage others is commendable. You often guide the group's actions, like when you said, "Alright, [teammate], go," which helps keep the discussion organized. However, sometimes your statements can be fragmented, like when you said, "I feel like having a new feature can let people be interested and plus..." but then trailed off, making it hard to grasp the complete idea. Enhancing your clarity by organizing your thoughts before speaking can help make your points more understandable to your peers.
Your active listening skills are impressive. You actively engage with your peers' ideas and comments, showing interest in new perspectives and responding thoughtfully. This is evident when you said, "[Teammate] or you," which demonstrates your careful consideration of who should speak next. Another good example is your response, "Well, I guess the vote is tight; so you need to choose one option first," showing you understand and respond to others' inputs effectively. Keep up this excellent practice of listening and engaging, as it fosters a collaborative and inclusive environment.
You do a great job showing empathy, such as when you said, "Yeah, that does make sense," validating your peer's viewpoint. This shows your ability to acknowledge and appreciate others' perspectives. To build on this strength, consider incorporating more clear evidence to support your ideas and ensuring you maintain engagement with others' points before moving on. This approach will help you balance leading the discussion and deeply connecting with your peers.
Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
