Hi Martin,

On the journey to make any team you¡¯re on better, you¡¯ll practice how to effectively communicate with everyone. Our Discussion Sessions are carefully designed to provide opportunities for you to practice these critical communication skills in various ways.

Last week, we challenged you to examine your morals and actions when interacting with extraterrestrial life. You explored scenarios inspired by popular science fiction works that provoke questions about disease, intelligence, and coexistence in our session on alien ethics. No right or wrong answers; just interesting conversations with kids from around the world.

Here¡¯s some feedback on how you used your voice in the Discussion Sessions you attended:

Communication Analysis
Martin, during the recent Discussion sessions we made some observations we would like to share with you about your communication skills.

You often express your ideas clearly, and this is a great strength. For example, when you said, "I'll choose punching powers because I can already punch through a wall," you were very specific and clear about what you wanted to say. Additionally, statements like ¡°I'll do research there, too¡± show that you are listening and trying to engage with the topic.

You also show good signs of listening and engaging with others. For instance, you build on peers' ideas, like when you said, "Lasers are just one strong beam of light. We can just hold mirrors." This shows you are paying attention to others' points. Additionally, consider supporting your points with clear reasons or specifics.

Finally, practicing empathy and recognizing others¡¯ feelings can enhance your contributions. You demonstrated this well when you said, "I think I would do a welcoming approach with this." Keep asking interesting questions and engaging with your friends' ideas. Remember to acknowledge what your peers say more often, and try to keep the discussion on track. Keep up the positive work and continue growing these skills!

Anyone who knows how to make any team they¡¯re on better is able to keep improving their skills and correcting their errors. We look forward to seeing you at future Discussion Sessions and we¡¯ll continue giving you feedback on how you¡¯ve progressed in using your voice.
