Full Day Block – Week 3 – Inspirit AI
- Artificial intelligence Creators
- Inspirit AI offers an interdisciplinary, project-based artificial intelligence education taught by Stanford, MIT, and top university graduates. In AI Creators, we know that the biggest ideas can start from the smallest places which is why we call our students in from the sidelines to jump into the world of artificial intelligence. Through project-based learning, our kids learn about computer vision, self-driving cars, and language learning in chatbots—all scaffolded in an age-appropriate and engaging curriculum. Students build AI apps using block-based programming tools like Scratch and Thunkable and machine learning tools like Google’s Teachable Machine. As students learn about the concepts and ethical challenges behind AI and the basics of programming, they train and deploy machine learning models for self-driving cars, chatbots, classification problems, and more! We believe that coding is a team sport, which is why we infuse our teaching with an emphasis on collaboration, social good, and ethical responsibility. Course Structure Machine Learning Talks: Learn about a machine learning algorithm in an accessible and intuitive way from your teacher before we play around with examples in our coding workspace. Paper Programming: Cultivating abstraction, creativity, and design thinking with non-traditional approaches to reasoning about algorithms and UX/UI design. Block-Based Coding Using Scratch, a platform developed by MIT, quickly get a project off the ground and receive instant feedback about your performance. Project-Based Learning Through three main projects, students will be able to flex their newly acquired talents in hackathon-style—with plenty of feedback and support from your teacher and classmates!

- Welcome to “Cartoon Voice Over,” a unique course that seamlessly blends the art of animated film creation with the intricacies of character development and voice acting. In this course, students embark on a journey from watching animated films (ranging from 3 to 8 minutes) to delving into comprehensive story analysis and design. By examining logical and narrative structures, students cultivate critical thinking skills essential for creatively constructing compelling stories. Each class concludes with students having a well-defined outline for a coherent narrative, honing their ability to communicate persuasively through storytelling. Building upon this foundation, the course shifts focus to character development, emphasizing physicality and vocality to instill empathy, immersion, and articulation. Students engage in a hands-on experience by being virtually recorded in sync with a pre-animated piece. This dual approach not only introduces the story aspects of animation, but also teaches performance skills!

Acting
Taught by: Iliana Flohr, KLS Alum
All the world’s a stage. . . . Dive into the world of Shakespeare this summer! We will engage with Shakespeare’s work through an acting lens with fun activities, theatre games, group projects, and acting outdoors. Students will explore Shakespeare’s language: poetic style, iambic pentameter rhythm, literary devices, and more. They will learn how to analyze an advanced text through memorization and performance. Students will enjoy acting out characters, directing scenes, and crafting their own scripts. Each student will develop acting abilities and their own individual performance style. As students delve into acting, they will also learn skills in voice projection, self-expression, public speaking, and teamwork.
With 8 years of experience acting in American Youth Shakespeare and over 9 plays, Iliana has developed a deep appreciation for Shakespeare’s work and a love for acting and theatre. Iliana studied for the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art Level 3 Solo Shakespeare exam, and designed and taught her own 10-week drama course based on the play Hamlet to a class of 16 KLS seniors in 2024. Iliana is excited to adapt her favorite aspects of that course to an engaging summer camp format.
