This week, Synthesis sessions guide students in building strategic clarity out of initial confusion. In the Polis game, they’ll face the challenge of starting from zero prestige, using teamwork and shared information to craft successful strategies. Meanwhile, the “Supercollaborator Training” discussion helps students reflect on what it takes to become a team-boosting, collaboration-enhancing force. Both sessions revolve around the same core theme: great outcomes come from strong thinking and collaboration.

In Polis this week, students enter a strategic world where the starting point is unclear and rules feel complex. Each team begins with zero prestige. Faced with the unknown, they must rapidly build a sense of understanding—grasping how the game works, identifying goals, and figuring out how to collaborate. This is the first step in strategic thinking. Coaches will observe how students share information, set learning goals, and grow from mistakes. Because true victory isn’t about winning the game—it’s about understanding why and how to win.

At Synthesis, a “Supercollaborator” is the highest achievement in team play. They’re not perfect, but they’ve practiced enough to develop their own views on communication, mindset, and problem-solving. This week’s discussion invites students to slow down and reflect on real situations drawn from recent Synthesis classes. They’ll analyze how to respond effectively in tricky team dynamics. It’s a chance to think deeply about how to become a powerful force for good in any team.
